SCUOLA28
Dance & Wellness
Scuola28 is convinced that studying dance and related disciplines can improve the physical, mental, and emotional development of those who are in the process of building their own identities.
The School
By dancing, we learn to understand our own body and to use it as a means of communication with others, discovering the quality of movement and how it relates to space, time, music, and rhythm, as well as personal and current world issues.
The training proposed by Scuola28 includes various dance and wellness classes, divided by age and offered by teachers with international experience. Classes for children and adults include Classical Ballet, Graham technique and Hip Hop. Our wellness classes for adults, including Gravity® Training System, Pilates Matwork, Barre Workout, Hiit and Yoga, are offered at different moments of the day and the week to allow everyone the opportunity to dedicate time to themselves. All in accordance with rigorous standards to promote a deep balance between mind, body and spirit. Finally, our swimming classes, offered from Spring to Fall, complement and enrich our offer and provide the opportunity to move our bodies in a new and different way.

Maria is a 400 certified yoga & meditation practitioner, teacher, but most of all life-long learner. She is born & raised in Germany, but actually lived abroad for most of her adult life. After many years in France, short intermezzos in Italy & the US & a couple of years back in Germany, she settled now in Italy with her half German half Mexican Family.
Maria started her yoga journey almost 20 years ago, learned & trained in Berlin, Paris, Mexico & the US and teaches since over 8 years now, off & online. She is trained in Hatha/Vinyasa/Pranayama & Kundalini, but her approach today is very free, non-dogmatic & incorporates elements from different styles. Her practice is shaped by all the incredible teachers she had the chance to learn from, but also by everyone she practiced with.
Her teaching is based on the thousands of year-old yoga philosophy, in a very humble way, but she allows herself to follow her instincts & people’s needs. She offers a mix of somatic movement, breathwork & different meditation techniques that include both meditation in movement, but also immobility, both stillness & sound (vocal toning, humming, mantra chanting).
Maria sees herself as a facilitator to help people re-find the connection with their bodies & minds in order to open up spaces within where stress, fear & worries keep them tight to ultimately remember the "I" beyond the ego & the "We", the true connection to each other & that in the end “we are just all walking each other home” (Ram Dass).
